Central Texas Professional Counseling

My Counseling Approach

In session, there is a blend of conventional and alternative approaches to help clients reach their personal strengths and goals. The counseling relationship is based on creating an accepting, respectful, warm, collaborative working environment to guide you to re-write new and healthy scripts. The key is to construct opportunities for you to gain insights into personal patterns and simultaneously strengthen connections in relationships. Efforts will focus on helping you explore your strengths and successes and explore effective ways to enhance personal growth and relationship satisfaction.

Specializing in Being a Therapist to Therapists

As a therapist’s clinician, I seek to help therapists work on their family-of-origin issues. It is hoped that these self-reflective sessions will empower one to remain calm and objective in the midst of intense emotionality when they conduct clinical sessions. Having worked through our own issues enables therapists to provide exceptional quality of care for their clients.

My doctoral degree is in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and licensed Professional Counselor (at the supervisory level). As a clinician, I have over 25 years of counseling experience working with individuals, couples, and families. My professional history includes working with clients with addictions and psychiatric issues. In addition, I have been teaching graduate and undergraduate level counseling and marriage and family therapy classes for over 20 years.
